Fans around the world watched as Roger—one of the UK's most beloved frontmen—performed the band's global hits with a young Ranking Jr. by his side, earning his stripes. Today, Ranking Jr. follows in his father's footsteps as the lead singer of the groundbreaking ska-pop outfit behind "Mirror In The Bathroom," "Too Nice To Talk To," and "Hands Off... She's Mine," bringing his own distinctive, individual style and sound to the stage.

About The Beat:

Drawing from the dance-friendly ska and reggae music of Jamaica, fused with a chaotic and loud punk rock culture that erupted in British cities, the Brummie six-piece The Beat emerged as an authentic and energetic representation of the working class in late 1970s Britain. By embracing this excellent musical DNA and celebrating the band's substantial legacy, The Beat featuring Ranking Jr. is now recognized for a brilliant new sound, beloved by fans of all generations.

Born in 1983 into a family for whom music was everything, Ranking Jr. watched as a child while his father wrote and performed with a growing determination to develop his own sound and career. Twenty years later, in 2003, the original lineup of The Beat, minus two founding members, reformed to play a one-off sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall for a VH1 program called Bands Reunited. Along with marking an incredibly important moment for the band and their fans, it would also be the ultimate live debut of Roger's son, Ranking Jr., before an audience of 5,000 people.

As his career with The Beat took off, Ranking Jr. secured more pop success after contributing a verse to the Ordinary Boys' song "Boys Will Be Boys" in 2005, which reached number three on the charts. After nearly twenty years of performing together, including recording two The Beat albums, Bounce (2016) and Public Confidential (2018), Ranking Jr. took his rightful place as frontman of the captivating British band following his father's passing.

Now, as The Beat featuring Ranking Jr., the singer is backed by a group of top-notch musicians who played with The Beat and Ranking Roger for decades, including Mark Hamilton (sax), Neil Deathridge (guitar), and Dave 'Blockhead' Wright (keyboards). Infused with the energy and ambition of his father and shaped by his hometown of Birmingham—the city that was and will be—Ranking Jr. is determined to develop the legacy he has inherited. With Ranking Jr., they have played over 200 shows in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, and Italy. Tours in the US and South America are planned for 2025.
