Expositie Jasmijn Fotografeert

In this hallway exhibition, Jasmijn showcases her animal photography: a kingfisher just catching a fish, a squirrel hanging from a branch above the water, and three curious fox cubs peeking out of their den. Jasmijn always strives to capture special moments with her camera. She has loved animals all her life, which is evident in her photos.

You may know Jasmijn from her biweekly column in the Amstelveens Nieuwsblad: Jasmijn Fotografeert. You might also spot her photos around town. Over the past year, she has worked on various projects to brighten up electrical boxes with beautiful images of nature and landmarks in Amstelveen. One of these boxes even features a photo of KunstLokaal SAKB.

Around 1990, Jasmijn received her first analog SLR camera—her father's old camera. She then took various courses to master the basics of photography. In 2018, she began studying applied photography at the Fotoacademie.

To train her eye and creativity, she frequently visits nature reserves—an experience she loves to share by offering photo workshops to her favorite locations and bird hides. Additionally, she leads the meetings of Fotoclub Amstelveen every third Saturday of the month.

Now, Jasmijn is also offering photography workshops and courses at KunstLokaal SAKB. Starting next quarter, you can enroll in a basic photography course or a smartphone photography workshop or course. Interested? Email: jasmijnfotografeert@gmail.com
